Wauwatiki's August Menu Is Here, and It Tastes Like Vacation

Wauwatiki's August Menu Just Dropped, and It's Full-On Island Mode

Patio season in Wauwatosa is peaking, and Wauwatiki's August menu is built for exactly that. New cocktail flavors, a returning fan-favorite entrée, and a full lineup of island-inspired plates just landed. All still 100% gluten-free, because that's never up for negotiation here. Here's what to order.

The Colada Craze Is August's Drink of the Month

Forget picking one flavor. The Colada Craze comes in seven, and you should order all of them: Blackberry, Classic, Guava, Kiwi, Lychee, Mango, or Strawberry. It's the kind of drink built for a slow afternoon on the patio. Order a different flavor every round, and you've basically got a tasting flight.

Classic is the move if you want the straightforward, beachy version. Guava and lychee lean more floral and adventurous. Strawberry and blackberry are the crowd-pleasers. There's no wrong answer, which is sort of the point.

New (and Returning) Plates Worth Ordering

The August food menu leans hard into island and Asian-inspired flavors, with a few standouts:

  • Cajun Jambalaya ($15)  back for another month by popular demand. Spicy, savory, classic jambalaya over rice, topped with sautéed shrimp.
  • Poke Bowl ($20)  sesame and soy-marinated ahi tuna with diced red pepper, mango, onion, and edamame over rice, finished with a cucumber-wasabi drizzle.
  • Loco Moco ($15)  the Hawaiian classic: a smashed beef patty, brown mushroom gravy, rice, a fried egg, and green onion. Fries instead of rice for $4.
  • Korean Beef Bowl ($15) or Korean Beef Tacos ($14)  bulgogi beef either way, with pickled red onion, sesame seed, and green onion. The tacos add provolone and a sriracha crema.
  • Volcano Shrimp ($16)  hand-battered shrimp tossed in volcano ranch with green onion. Order it if you like a little heat.
  • Cola Braised Pork Shanks ($16)  three shanks, slow-braised in spice and cola, sesame and green onion, served over rice.

Save room for the Mango Rice Pudding ($8)  it's the lightest way to end a patio meal without ending the meal too heavy for round two of Coladas.

Still Gluten-Free, Still an Island Escape in Wauwatosa

The whole menu, food and drinks, are still gluten-free, so nobody in your group has to sit out or double-check ingredients. It's just a full tiki bar and kitchen that happens to work for everyone at the table.

Tucked into the heart of Wauwatosa, minutes from downtown Milwaukee. The patio is still the best seat in the house through August: shade when you want it, sun when you don't, and a menu that changes enough to keep our regulars ordering something new.

Plan Your Visit

Reserve your table and get here before the August menu rotates into September. Planning a birthday, a group night, or a private event? Wauwatiki's space works for that too; reach out to start planning.
