Summary:

Under the direction and supervision of the owner, and in accordance with the business plan of Wauwatiki, the server shall be responsible for ensuring satisfaction and comfort of guests by performing all service duties listed below.   

 

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

·      Perform excellent service to all guests, staff, and vendors

  • Communicate in a friendly, clear and honest manner with all guests and staff
  • Display professionalism by following dress code, keeping conversation appropriate and maintaining friendly attitude
  • Work closely and cooperatively with front house manager(s) to ensure guest satisfaction
  • Maintain professional relationships with all staff
  • Read whiteboard in kitchen at beginning of every shift
  • Perform all duties on bartender opening checklist
  • When guests are seated or enter the restaurant, greet them immediately
  • Follow seven points of contact as listed below:
    • Initial greeting when guests enters restaurant
    • Greeting at table including introducing yourself, listings specials, soups and outages if applicable and taking drink order if ready (give menus and silverware and scones on weekend at this point)
    • Food order/ Drink order
    • Serve food and ask if guest needs anything right away such as additional drinks, refills, condiments etc.
    • Check back with guests after first few bites to see how things are
    • Bill/pay bill
    • Thank them for coming and have a good day
  • Take orders, make cocktails and serve beer to customers and for tables
  • Stock all beer and back bar products

 

 

  • Place food order immediately after each table has ordered (not waiting and putting in multiple orders at one time)
  • Ensure ticket has printed in kitchen and check for accuracy on each order
  • Stock, prep, & clean all needed behind the bar
  • Listen for food bell and help run food items when at all possible
  • All breaks must be approved by manager on duty
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization behind counter
  • Maintain personal hygiene, proper sanitation procedures, and appearance
  • No food should be consumed behind counter, bar or in kitchen
  • All bar meals must be rung up by another staff member who is not serving, and must be paid for prior to consumption
  • All beverages consumed by staff must be in a reusable and covered container
  • Possess excellent skill and knowledge of POS system including splitting checks, redeeming coupons, and more
  • Be knowledgeable about discounts and be able to accurately process all discounts
  • Assist other staff members upon request and as needed
  • Perform shift change checklists and/or closing checklist depending on shift schedule
  • Perform all bar cleaning duties (daily and weekly items)
  • Perform cleaning duties assigned by manager near end of shift
  • Communicate with manager to ensure all duties are completed before clocking out and leaving
  • Participate in and be present for all staff meetings
  • Perform other duties assigned by owner
  • Follow all policies and procedures as set forth by Wauwatiki practices
